A beautiful home located on the edge of a very popular village on the Silver Coast in Portugal. The property is access by way of a sliding gate that opens onto the driveway which lead across the front of the property and down to the rear of the house and garden.
There is a large covered porch to the front of the house, a lovely spot to sit and relax. The front door opens into the entrance hall. There are tiled floors and the hall leads to the main living area to the right and the bedrooms to the left.
The open plan living area has been lovingly renovated and incorporates the dining, living and kitchen areas. There are large double patio doors that immediately draw your eye to the stunning views that surround this property. There are also double aspect corner windows that lend further light to the room and add to the character of this space. The living area has a custom built surround that houses the electric flame effect fireplace, while also providing great storage and a lovely space to display books and your personal decorations (not included, but can be negotiated). A further double window looks out to the front of the property, ensuring sunshine and light into this room from sun up to sun down.
The kitchen has been well thought out and incorporates a range of base units and a pull out shelving unit. Note: This was originally two small bedrooms. The owners decided that it was more useful to have a larger bedroom that would accommodate a super-king size bed and custom built wardrobes.

A large room beyond this lends itself to a number of options. It could incorporate an annex for guests or family, a games or music room. It would be a very good space for a home office.

To the front of the house there is a wide driveway that stretches to the side, runs across the front and curves down to the parking area to the rear where you will find a stone bbq. There is a nicely trimmed hedge that runs down the curve with a gap that allow you to step through to where there are mature fruit trees and shrubs planted. Here you will find your own, lemon, orange and mandarin trees that give off an abundance of fruit during the fruiting season.
There is a covered terrace to the front of the house, which provides a shaded area to sit quietly with a good book and a chilled glass of the local vinho.
To the south facing rear and immediately off the patio doors from the living room is a good sized patio area that is large enough to provide space for a dining table and chairs, providing a wonderful space to entertain and enjoy outside dining.
There are two steps that leads down to the large patio area that surrounds the beautiful 10 x 5 swimming pool. Off to the side there is an area that is a very comfortable sitting area providing a good space to relax, soak in the views and breath in the fresh air.

The town of Alcobaça is a few minutes drive away. Alcobaca is a lovely town that is big enough to provide you with everything you need but still small enough to be personal. There are supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, banks, health centres, dentists, a hospital, a beautiful park and all other amenities you would expect from a mid sized town. Alcobaca is word famous for it’s fabulous monastery which is a must see. It is surrounded by streets filled with wonderful old buildings in a variety of architectural designs. There are many cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy the local delicacies. Opposite the monastery is a wide pedestrian area where you can sit and enjoy a wonderful smooth coffee or a glass of chilled vinho while relaxing and watching as the world meanders around you.
There is a twice weekly fruit and vegetable market in Alcobaca where you can buy wonderful and fresh local produce as well as fresh baked bread, cheeses, pulses, beans, nuts, dried fruit, beautiful and colourful fresh flowers, baskets and many other local artisan products.
São Martinho is one of the most popular towns and beaches on the Silver Coast. The town itself surrounds the shell shaped bay which in itself provides a safe area for families to enjoy days on the beach with safe swimming. The beach stretches all the way around to the nearby village of Salir do Porto. In São Martinho do Porto there are numerous restaurants and cafes that cater to many different palates. In addition there is a pharmacy, supermarkets, several mini-markets, butchers, bakeries, lovely pastry shops, gift and souvenir shops as well as clothing chops and shops with wonderful products for the home and garden. A promenade and cycle track stretches around the whole bay with the cycle track connecting to the Estrada Atlântica where you can cycle for miles. There are also fabulous walks that surround this entire area.
The town of Caldas da Rainha is a 20 minute drive. Caldas has a population of approximately 52,000. Caldas is a lovely town that is large enough to provide all you need while still maintaining a welcoming and vibrant community feel. In Caldas there are an unending array of cafes and restaurants, catering to every taste, including vegan, gluten free and other dietary preferences. Caldas has hotels, shopping centres, cultural centres, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, two hospitals, schools for every level. There is also a fabulous centre park where there is usually some form of entertainment taking place. There are often art displays here; once a month there is a fabulous outdoor antiques and flea market that stretches throughout the entire park and makes for a great day out. There is a duck pond in the park where you can rent boats and there is also a children’s play area.
There is a daily fruit and vegetable market in Caldas where you can buy wonderful and fresh local produce as well as fresh baked bread, cheeses, pulses, beans, nuts, dried fruit, beautiful and colourful fresh flowers, baskets and many other local artisan products. There are several cafes directly off the market to enjoy a relaxing coffee while picking up your produce. A Monday market covers a huge area and at this market you can expect to be able to find pretty much anything for the home or garden.
Lisbon and Lisbon Airport are approximately one hour away. A regular bus service runs from Caldas da Rainha to Lisbon. The high speed trains run from Lisbon down to the Algarve.
